Video Marketing Tools

by admin on March 9, 2010

Online videos are great way of getting your animated message out to your target market and general online users Uploading videos can be tiresome but there are services which only require you to upload once and then they will take care of the distribution through popular sites such as youtube.com and myspace.com.

Tubemogul

What they say: “TubeMogul is a free service that provides a single point for deploying uploads to the top video sharing sites, and powerful analytics on who, what, and how videos are being viewed. TubeMogul tracks rich, standardized analytics far beyond “views,” including per-second audience dropoff, audience geography and much more.” www.tubemogul.com (2010)

What the end users say: “Tube Mogul is a site where you can upload your video once, then have it automatically sent out to a dozen different video sharing sites. This will save you about a half day’s worth of work per video you upload.” www. videoproductiontips.com (2010) “TubeMogul begins with a simple upload process – either upload your video to TubeMogul or use their application to upload it for you to one of over twenty networks.” www.listio.com (2009)

The downside: “If there is a downside to TubeMogul it may be in the limited number of networks available to users, though the simplicity of the interface can compensate.” www.thedvshow.com (2010)

Cost: FREE for the basic package

Trafficgeyser

What they say: “Forget about the traditional marketing methods that you are use to. It’s time to think outside the box!… Traffic Geyser makes it unbelievably easy to unleash the power of online video to drive traffic, leads and sales.” www.trafficgeyser.com (2010)

What the end users say: “Since we are using the Traffic Geyser service, our sales have increased between $10,000 and $20,000 a month… I’m expecting to make $250,000 in one month when the new videos are up!” Carsten Jaxt, www.saint-statues.com (2010)

The downside: There is a high cost to Trafficgeyser compared with the free service of TubeMogul, also there are reports of only 50/60% of the videos uploaded actually working. TG doesn’t seem to have a tracking device that TM offers. www.warriorforum.com (2009)

Cost: $97 per month for the basic package.

Conclusion

The both seem to be good interms of video uploading but have specialist features. The pros of one seem to be the cons of the other. In order to pick between them, you need to understand the needs of the business and who the target audience are, this will help to make a well justified decision.

TG uses a wealth of sites to post its videos on and it also submits your content to 12 podcast sites.

TM is a free service that has a limited amount of sites it posts on however, the reviews are excellent and these sites it partners are quantified such as youtube, yahoo and myspace. TM also offers additional tools to promote, track and manage video content. It’s this reason that I would choose TM because the quality of service as well as the features are better according to the reviews. It also seems to be a more reliable resource with figures of at least 98% of the videos uploaded actually working compared to 60% of TG. (Thank you Karen for the information and table below)
